Description

This unique upgrade is specially designed for modified Type Rs that are used intensively on the track or on the road. In addition to cooling the gearbox oil, this oil cooler also reduces engine temperature, which is crucial for reliable performance under heavy loads.

As standard, the gearbox uses a simple heat exchanger that uses the engine coolant to cool the oil, adding extra heat to the cooling system. The Airtec oil cooler integrates an external cooler into this cycle, cooling both the gearbox and the engine more efficiently. Additionally, the additional oil content in the system increases capacity and helps keep temperatures under control for longer.

The cooler mounts securely to a replacement lower support beam that is stronger and stiffer than the original part. A lightweight aluminum airflow panel, fitted with vents and powder-coated in black, provides direct airflow to the oil cooler and provides additional passive cooling under the engine.
