BMW S58 G80/G82 M3/M3 Competition/M4/M4 Competition Transition Tube to be announced.
One area that could use improvement is the design of the exhaust system's center pipe. The G80/G82 M3 and M4 use a Y-style midpipe, with both downpipes on the right side of the engine.
The downpipe on the left is connected to a “transition pipe” that runs under the transmission and connects to the midpipes on the left. Unfortunately, the standard shape of the transition tube is oval to create sufficient space under the transmission. This change from a round pipe to an oval shape causes turbulence in the pipe, leading to a restriction in the exhaust flow.
We have developed a replacement transition tube that retains the round shape, eliminating the turbulence and restriction caused by the oval design. As a result, we expect a significant increase in power and torque, improving overall performance.
