Boost Cooler from Snow Performance
The Boost Cooler works in three ways. First, small water droplets injected into the intake system absorb heat from the intake air. These droplets then evaporate, further cooling the inlet air, sometimes up to 60°C. In the combustion chamber, the remaining water vapor produces steam, consuming a large amount of heat, which acts as an anti-detonation agent and reduces the build-up of carbon deposits in the engine.
Conventional intercooler
Unlike a conventional intercooler, water injection allows the intake air to be reduced below ambient temperature, resulting in more efficient cooling without the loss of boost pressure, as with conventional performance intercoolers. This can lead to capital gains of up to 20%.
